Relaxing Waves of Maui's Beautiful Keawakapu Beach
There is something magical about the sound of the waves or the gentle feel of the ocean's spray as you walk along the beach. Keawakapu Beach is the most beautiful of the many beaches around the world.
It's hard to believe that the beach could be so empty in the middle of July or the beginning of August. The pandemic remains ongoing with periodic regional surges in cases. As you would expect from a popular travel destination, we've seen an unfortunate increase in Covid cases on Maui. Perhaps that is why there are no crowds.
Walking along the beach is a reminder of the beauty of God's creations and the transformative nature and strength of water. The waves constantly shape the coast, creating ledges of sand and exposing lava rocks just to smooth the ridges and cover the rocks the following day.
Similar to life itself, the beach is always changing. Constantly moving forward. The powerful forces of the universe with the sun's rotations and the lunar pull influence the tides and power of the waves.
There are isolated footprints that can be seen in the sand. Often just a single set, but sometimes the impressions can be seen in pairs. Still, the sounds of the waves create the perfect audible backdrop for transformational self-reflection.
I'm amazed at how many problems can be solved during a 30-minute walk along the beach. Similar to the sand's influence on the lava rocks, problems are uncovered and exposed. During that period of transparency, seemingly huge problems are washed away with receding waves.
Until your next visit to Maui, Hawaii, and the island's beautiful south shore, allow these pictures (taken on a few days ago with an iPhone) to wash away all of your troubles and worries allowing you to begin again.
