Havana, Cuba - Expressions of the People

Thankfully, Nomad's Lens had the opportunity to explore Havana, Cuba before Trump administration's travel restrictions. The experience was genuinely unforgettable. I decided to use only an iPhone with a zoom lens to capture authentic, unassuming images of the people of Havana.

It was an incredible experience becoming immersed in the culture and life of the people of Cuba.

Life seemed un-rushed, and the people appeared to be happy. Nomad's Lens attempted to capture ordinary people in their daily lives.

People of all races seemed to blend as one Cuban nation. Whether sitting quietly along the street or enjoying the newspaper at the bus stop, the people of Havana appeared to be content - perhaps even happy.

As an American, I was touched by the warm welcome and kindness displayed by everyone that we met.

All photos were taken with an iPhone using an attachable zoom lens (not my usual Nikon 7200).

None of the included photos were edited, and nearly all taken from approximately 100 feet away.

The weeks spent in Havana were transformational as I had a chance to witness this culture and people with few resources thrive amid scarcity.

These images show that it doesn't take much to be happy - just family and friends.

Hasta luego,

Nomad's Lens
