Capturing the Essence of Havana, Cuba through Nikon Lens (featuring a guest photographer)
Nomad's Lens was fortunate in timing to visit Havana, Cuba following President Obama's relaxed trade sanctions and Donald Trump's restrictions in travel and trade.
The pulse of Havana with its Spanish influenced architecture is intoxicating.
This particular bookstore is filled with well preserved historic books and publications dating back to the revolution.
There are historical monuments throughout the city displaying magnificent artistry and conveying the pride of the Cuban people.
The cathedrals were themselves works of art portraying the life of Christ and His disciples. The church doors are always open - statues of the Massiah welcoming all.
Gold trimmed alters displayed grace and beauty with graphic reminders of the sacrifice of Christ. The spirit was ever-present within the wall of these churches.
The churches are typically the focal point of the plazas, particularly the Plaza Vieja in Old Havana. In addition to the places of worship, nearly all of the plazas will also have quaint shops and historical monuments.
This magnificent view of Havana (with Old Havana and the Malecon in the distance) shows the exciting architecture of this vibrant and beautiful city. Taken from the balcony of the famed Havana Libre Hotel (7200 Nikkor lens).
Strolling along the Malecon is a cultural experience and 'a must' during your visit to Cuba. Nearly 5 miles of the seawall that makes of the Malecon, goes from Centro Havana to Havana Harbor in old town.
This young photographer captured the majority of the featured photos with a Nikon 3200 and 7200. Great to see Nomad's daughter following in his footsteps.....
If sanctions improve and restrictions again lifted, seize the opportunity to explore Havana, Cuba.
