Unforgettable Boulavard - La Rambla - Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona, Spain is known for Antoni Gaudi inspired architecture, famed Picasso Musem, beautiful beaches, exquisite gastronomy and the famed La Rambla.

Barcelona is located in the Catalonia region of Spain separated by the Pyrenees mountains from its neighboring France.

The region of Catalonia was an autonomous state until the end of the Spanish Civil war. There has been a re-emergence of nationalistic Catalonia pride over the past few years.

Roaming the maze of streets (Carrer) and enjoying the well preserved Spanish architecture in the Gothic Quarter and La Ribera are wonderful ways to get a feel for this beautiful city.

There are several audio tours and self-guided tour apps to use when exploring Barcelona. However, just walking along La Rambla is an unforgettable adventure filled with street performers, artist, tapas bars, and shops.

The artful performance of the human status delight visitors and entertain the diverse group of travelers strolling La Rambla.

The three-quarters of a mile walk from the Christopher Columbus Monument to the Place de Catalunya is a delightful journey filled with unexpected treasures.

An afternoon or early evening stroll down La Rambla is filled with incredible human statue performers. The artists go to great lengths to create mystical characters.

The entertainers' costumes are meticulously crafted such as the Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter's look-a-like from Alice in Wonderland.

The Picasso museum is one of the most famous in Barcelona and is a 'must see' when visiting. There are countless other great museums to explore.

This winged goddess was particularly entertaining during an afternoon La Rambla stroll. A few euros tip produces flapping wings and a fully animated and highly entertaining performance.

Stroll a few yards further along La Rambla, and this medieval knight greets you with "not so shining" armor.

The unique characters along La Rambla create a highly entertaining journey.

There are many places to stop for a quick cocktail, a glass of wine, tapas or dessert.
