Since the country's independence in 1962, Jamaica has systematically expanded the tourism industry and strengthened its infrastructure. These advancements are the direct result of the brilliance of a very resilient people.

The people of Jamaica are extraordinarily friendly and welcoming. As the saying goes, "Out of many, one people". That is the core of this multicultural nation. Regardless of their heritage (East Indian, African, Chinese, European, etc.), the people of Jamaica consider themselves first and foremost Jamaican.
